Friends Forever

Today I decided to reorganize our closet and I was looking at old pictures from high school and came across many pictures of Julie , my old neighbor and best friend, and me. I started thinking alot about her and wondering how she was doing as a married women!
I went to check the mail and there was a card from her! It is amazing how God works!
Thanks so much for the card and gift Julie! I do miss you and think of you often. We need to get together when I come back up there or if you come down here!

This made me start thinking about my high school friends and how we don't talk as much because we are all married and have children (well some of us), but I really do love them as much as I did when we talked everyday! I miss the clan from high school! So girls if you read this please know that I love you and miss you dearly!

This week I am on Spring Break and I have made a list of things I want to accomplish, but I just can't seem to get motivated to do anything! All I want to do is sit on the couch and relax. I am trying to not let myself feel bad for wanting to relax when I know there are many things that need to be done around the house! Oh well!! There is always Summer!!

March Madness has begun!!

I love this time of year because of March Madness. Every since I can remember my dad and I have watched the basketball games together! About three years ago I decided to get the whole family involved and we have a bracket challenge. I won the first year and my sister has won the last two years(which is funny because she knows nothing about the teams). Patrick calls me the march madness dork because during the day I have my computer on ESPN.com and I watch all the games!

One reason I love march madness is because it really makes the end of March and beginning of April go by fast and then I know that school is almost out.
I also love it because I am very competitive and I love to see who is winning the brackets.
Another reason is because the games usually end up well and it is always fun to see who will be the Cinderella team!

The games started today and already after only 6 games I am already losing to Patrick, but that is OK because the fun has begun! :)

Good luck to everyone who has a made a bracket! I must go now and watch some BASKETBALL!!! :)

RELAY FOR LIFE!!!

This year I am participating in the Relay for Life event in Lexington as part of my school's team. Relay for Life is a great event where people get together to celebrate raising money for cancer research. Cancer has really hit home for me in many ways. One of the main reason I relay is because of a little boy named Riley West. Riley was a sweet little boy that I use to babysit and was as country as gets! He always had a smile on his face and would love to give you hugs! Riley lost the battle for cancer when I was in high school one day during his nap. That year Relay for Life took on a new meaning for me. We really did celebrate his life and memory!

I tell you all this to ask for you help. Patrick and I are both on the team and we have set a goal of 500.00 for the both of us! We need your HELP!! There are many ways you can help. You can donate money, you can buy a bracelet for 2.00, you can become a sponsor and your business or name be printed on a sign for the night of Relay, or my school is ordering t-shirts and you can put your logo on the back of our t-shirts for 100.00. You can also buy a luminary that is honor or memory of someone with cancer. The luminaries are 10.00 and they will be lit the night of the Relay during a special ceremony.

Please help us meet our goal! If you have questions you can email me and I will be more than willing to help you! If you want to mail your check I can email you my address!
Thanks so much!

Random Things

Here are some random things that we have done this week!

Saturday Patrick and I had a great time just relaxing and watching movies!

Sunday we went to the park because it was so beautiful outside and Duke enjoyed playing in the water!

My husband has been wonderful this week! He has cooked dinner two nights in a row and cleaned up the kitchen both nights!

Last night was a terrible stormy night in Lexington! The storms started at 7:00 and didn't end until 9:30. Our power went out around 9:00 and did not come on again until 5:30 this morning. It was a very dark and hot night last night!

I am taking a half day on Friday to get ready for the beach!

This Friday I am going on a girls weekend with my mom, sister, and Caroline to the beach! I cannot wait! I am so excited about shopping and relaxing!
