Happy Birthday!
Today is our aunt JuJu's birthday! :) In honor of her birthday my Thursday thirteen is 13 reasons we LOVE JUJU!!
1. She has the cutest dog in the world!
2. She is so creative and can make anything crafty!
3. She is a great scrapbooker!
4. She is the cool aunt that everyone wishes they had! We are so lucky we have her! :)
5. When I first came into the family she made me feel so welcomed and treated me like I had been there forever from day one!
6. She is one of the best singers I have ever heard! She did a wonderful job in our wedding!
7. She is a great role model for us with her faith! You can always tell she has a great strong walk with the Lord.
8. She has a great sense of style of jewelry!
9. When she says she loves you, she really means it and you can tell!
10. She would do anything for our family and loves all of us the same!
11. She can always make you laugh!
12. She loves her new grandnieces! :)

The Carolina Flag Mystery
A couple weeks ago our little Carolina flag under our mailbox disappeared. I just figured the wind blew it away because it was around the time that we had those big winds! Well, I was leaving for work today and was looking at the window and I saw a flag that looked just like our old flag on the house 3 houses down from ours. I didn't really think anything about at the time.
When I got home from work I drove around the circle because I was getting our mail and I took a closer look at the flag. IT WAS OUR FLAG. The outside trim of the flag was black when we got it but faded from the sunlight and this flag was faded as well and these neighbors have never had a flag on their pole.
I could not believe my eyes! Our neighbors actually took the flag and put it on their mailbox. Now I am not saying they stole it because the wind probably did blow it away but they took it and are actually using it! I really cannot believe it!
After thinking about for along time I finally decided to try and get over it because obviously they wanted a Carolina flag really bad and they have one, but still I am very shocked they took it!

Yea Patrick!
Today we were looking on the internet at Patrick's company website, Southland. I noticed that one of his properties was the showcase property and it was showcased in the Southland Times for October. Everytime we go to Spartanburg.....
SOMEONE IS SICK!! :)
It seems everytime we come up to see our family, someone in our family is sick! :( This time it is Kelly. She has flu like symptoms.
Tonight we were suppose to celebrate Kelly's birthday but we didn't get to! :( My mom and I went to pick up the children around 3:00 and headed to Hobby Lobby to get Kelly a surprise! After that we came home and played at the house. Caroline, Patrick, and I played outside and had fun running and jumping in the leaves. Caroline was so cute because she run really fast and get to the edge of the leaves and say, "I can't jump, it is too dirty!" It was so cute!
We then ate Kelly's favorite meal and it was really sad without her. We all missed Kelly and Andy! After dinner we all played again and Eli was so cute! He would crawl around and just talk and smile. He was so happy he didn't want to go to sleep!
We all had a good day but it would have been a great day if we could have celebrated with Kelly. Please say an extra prayer for her tonight that she gets better fast! She really misses her children!
We love you Kelly! Get better soon!

Like Father, Like Daughter
Today I realized that I am just like my dad! When we were little and still today my dad never goes to the doctor. He just always takes medicine and starts feeling better. Well this weekend I thought that was just what I needed.. I WAS WRONG!
Last night I was so sick that I fell asleep in my closet in the bathroom. So this morning when I woke up and did not feel any better Patrick told me I HAD TO GO TO THE DOCTOR, so I did.
I found out that I have a sinus infection, which explains why the cold medicine was not working at all! I got an antibotic and some more medicine and went home to take them. I then fell asleep from 1-4:30. I didn't realize how tired I was.
My wonderful mom has told me that I cannot go to work tomorrow because I have class tomorrow night and I would not be rested and that I must rest, so I am stuck here another day. I am so bored and tired of watching tv. I actually miss my students and work!
The moral of the story is I should have listen to my mom and Patrick on Friday and gone to the doctor because I would probably be better now :)
The good news is I only have to work for 2 days and then we get to come home to celebrate Kelly's birthday! :) There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Happy Belated Birthday
Since I was in the bed all day yesterday I was not able to write about my wonderful sister's birthday!
Yesterday was my sister's 27th birthday!
When we were little Kelly and I always had our good moments and our bad moments. I remember I always wanted to spend time with her when she had friends over. Her friends never seemed to mind, but boy did Kelly mind. I remember I would get on her nerves by following them around everywhere.
As we grew older, she started letting me hang out with her friends. Not only is Stacey Kelly's friend but she also treated me like a friend. I remember one time we went camping and Stacey talked to me more than Kelly! Looking back I realize that it didn't bother Kelly that I was hanging out with her friends.
The summer before my 10th grade year, I remember spending all my time with Kelly and her friends. She would let me tag along with her to go anyway. This was when I first realized that she was my best friend. We enjoyed hanging out together and we told each other many things!
When Kelly started dating Andy, I remember there were many times I became the third wheel and went on a date with them because I didn't want to spend the evening with my parents. I thank you Kelly for allowing me to tag along with ya'll.
Now that we are both married we are stronger than ever! There aren't many days that go by that we either don't call each other or email each other. She is truly my best friend and I love her to death! I have enjoyed watching her become a wonderful mother and she is a great role model for me.
I always get told that we have an "odd" family because we are so close and love to spend time together but I wouldn't trade those moments for anything!

I've Got A Bad Case of The Blues
All week I have had a stuffy nose and sore throat but I just get up and make it through the day. Yesterday I was starting to feel better so I thought I was getting over the sickness. Well I was wrong. Patrick and I both got off at 12:00 today so we could leave early for the mountains. When I got home I was so tired. When Patrick got home I was asleep on the couch and he was like, "What is wrong with you?" He said I looked bad. I also felt bad. He finally after much arguing convinced me that we did not need to go to the mountains today. So I hopped back in bed and have been there all afternoon.
He wanted me to go to the doctor, but I don't feel like paying for a doctor to tell me I have a cold, so I called my dad to see what the best medicine was a cold. He told me Zicam so Patrick went to the drugstore to get me Zicam and to Blockbuster to get me a movie. He got back and I realized he had bought me the wrong kind of Zicam, so he turned around and went BACK to the store to get the right medicine. He is now going to get us something for dinner!
I realized today that I have the best husband because he has done anything for me today! I use to always think that no one could compare to my parents when I got sick, (I still sometimes want my mom), but Patrick has and is amazing!
On a good note, we have NOTHING planned for this weekend so we are looking forward to relaxing and I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday!

Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day!
Today I had to work until 7:45 so I didn't get home until 8:00 so we really didn't do much for the BIG day! I was very surprised to see that the house was cleaned up when I got home and my husband was waiting on my at the door! He also surprised me by filling up the bathtub for me and had it ready when I got home! :)
Tomorrow I only have to work until 12:00 so we are going to head to Hickory NC for tomorrow night. We are going furniture shopping on Sat.! :) This is my V-day gift from Patrick because I know how much he hates shopping! We are looking for a new bedroom suite and I really hope we find something! I am so excited because it has been awhile since we have taken a trip by ourselves!
Since I am going to be gone tomorrow and Sat. I want to go ahead and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY! My wonderful sister's birthday is on Sat. and I hate that we aren't going to be there to celebrate it. She was so wonderful to surprise me on my birthday last summer and come to our house! We are going home next weekend to have a birthday celebration with the whole family!
I will post more about this birthday when I get back, but I wanted to be the first to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We are so blessed
After a very long week, Patrick and I had a great weekend. Friday night we went out with Adam and Heather for dinner and then came back and hung out at the house. It was a great night of fellowship. Saturday we woke up around 10:00 and just hung around until 1:00 when we decided we needed to be productive. It was so pretty outside so Patrick washed both of our cars while I cleaned up the house. I then decided to take Duke for a walk but quickly realized that he took me for a walk. Saturday night my friends from my graduate class, Erica and Casey and their husbands came over to grill out and play games. It was so nice to have my friends over. After they left I was thinking about blessed we are to have such great friends in Lexington. Erica and Casey are my lifesavers for my class. They are the ones that keep me sane with all the work we have to do to graduate! Today we went to church and then out to eat with our Sunday School class and again I thought about how blessed we are to have such great friends in Lexington.I thank God for such wonderful small blessings in our life. We truly are blessed with wonderful friends!.

Thursday Thirteen
I am copying everyone from last week for my thursday thirteen this week.
Thirteen things you might not know about me!
1. I have four scars on my upper lip from a wreck I was in in 1st grade. I busted my lip open.
2. I have had 12 teeth pulled by the dentist.
3. I have had bunion surgery on both of my feet.
4. I clogged for 7-8 years total.
5. I played piano for 5 years.
6. My favorite year in high school was my 9th grade year because my sister and I became really close that year. Our lockers were right beside each other. (That was not planned.)
7. I attended Lander University for two years and started majoring in Chemistry. I decided that I didn't want to go to any more school and I really enjoyed teaching other people chemistry so I decided to become a teacher. I love my job even if I do complain about it all the time!
8. Patrick and I dated in high school and when we broke up we both told everyone we would NEVER talk to each again. (That is another long story).
9. I have played Mrs. Matchmaker for two wonderful couples that are happily married. My sister and Andy, and Staci and Andrew.
10. I am the baby on both sides of the family! :)
11. I love DUKE basketball! Sorry UNC fans! :) It was a great game last night!
12. When I was in high school I played on my church basketball team and everyone in the stands came to cheer me on when I made the one and only basket I made all year! Once I made the basket the game stopped for everyone to come hug me! Our team was so bad but we had so much fun playing it didn't matter that we never won a game.
