Friday night Fun!!

Friday after I got home from work Patrick and I went to Babies R Us to pick up our changing table. Once we got home we decided that we needed to go through all of Mary Alice's stuff and try to put things away so we could make room for the other wonderful goodies she will receive at her two showers next weekend.

First I went through all of her clothes and put them in the closet. This took almost a whole hour to complete! Patrick was cooking dinner for us, so we took a break to stop and eat! After dinner he called our good friend Justin to come and help him move the changing table in the room! Thank you so much Justin, I am not sure how we would have managed to move the table without your help!! The good thing was the table was already put together.

After we got the table moved in the room Patrick was very helpful at organizing her room! I had a meltdown during the middle because I wasn't sure we were going to have enough room and we still need more things, but he quickly calmed me down and we completed the room!

We also put her bedding on her crib minus the crib sheet because I need to wash it, but I wanted to see what everything looked liked! After that we decided to go ahead and put the highchair together as well! All in all it was a great night!

I like to go in her room and look around and look at all of her clothes! Getting everything together really makes me want her to come soon! :) Only 7 more weeks!!

32 Week Update

So today I went to the doctor for an update. It was just a quick appointment. The doctor said that I was doing well but she wanted to schedule an ultrasound for the next appointment because I am measuring so small. This of course has me worried but we are trying to not worry about it! I am sure if they thought something was wrong they would have done an ultrasound today. She also said it could be because I have such a long torso and I am feeling up instead of out. The good thing is that we get see our little girl again in two weeks!

On a good note her heartbeat was very strong and the doctor said that everything was looking good!

So please pray that everything is well with the size and that I am just overreacting about worrying!

Happy Birthday Sally!!!

Today is my sister-in-law's 17th Birthday! Sally is a great sister-in-law! She is just like another sister to me! She is also going to be a great aunt to Mary Alice!

Sally, we hope you had a great birthday! We love you!

First Baby Shower

This past weekend Patrick's aunts and family friends threw us a wonderful baby shower! I was alittle overwhelmed to say the least! Mary Alice was showered with wonderful gifts! After the shower our car was packed to the max! When we got home Patrick called one of the youth to come and help us unload because there was so much stuff! Her whole room right now is covered in bags and boxes. We hope to go through everything this weekend because next weekend we go back home for two more showers! Patrick and I are really blessed and thank everyone for the gifts! Here are some pictures from the shower!

Single Feeling!!

First I know what you are thinking.. WOW three post in one day. Let me explain why first before I explain the title!

We are visiting family this weekend because I have a shower on Sunday. My family is out of town so we are staying with Patrick's family and this morning I woke up and felt terrible! I had a huge sinus headache and a terrible sore throat. We had planned on going out and about with his family today but around 12:00 Patrick said I looked terrible so he sent me to my parent's house to get some rest. Even though no one is here it has been nice. There is nothing like being at your parent's house when you are sick! Anyway I am also very bored so I have been able to do many things on the Internet! I still have a sore throat but my headache has gone away!

Anyway back to the reason for this post. I have that single feeling again and will probably have it for the next two months. My wedding band and engagement ring do not fit anymore. I can push them on and off but they are very uncomfortable and I am scared they will get stuck on my fingers. I really hate this feeling! It has been almost 4 years since I have not had a ring on my finger and it feels very funny!
Patrick went out and about today to see if he could find a cheap ring that would work but he said they were either ugly or too expensive,so I guess I just get to look like the single pregnant lady for two months. This also stinks because I already have people stare at me because they think I am a lot younger than I really am so now I guess I will get more stares! Oh well, I would rather get stares than lose my rings!

It Won't Be Like This For Long

On the way to work yesterday I heard this song on the radio.. Let's just say I was in tears before I got to school!! Hope you enjoy!

No Sleeping Just Thinking

Today marks the 2 month mark.. Yes that is right in 2 months we hit the due date for our little angel!

I have found over the last week or so that I am not sleeping as much as I use to before I was pregnant. Some reasons are I have to get up every hour to go to the bathroom and my heartburn is so bad that I just sit straight up in bed.

The other reason has to do with the fact that my brain NEVER shuts off. I have always been like this. I remember one night I got up at 3:00 to go pay a bill because I could not stop thinking about it. Well now I am thinking about other things:

Will the epidural work?
Will it hurt?
Will I be able to deliver like I want to deliver?
What if my water breaks in front of my students?
What if I go into labor at home while Patrick is at work?
What if our parents don't make it? (My mom is going to be in the room with us so we really need her there)
How will I ever be a good parent?
What if we don't get the nursery done?
What is she going to look like?
What if I can't nurse?

The list goes on and on.... Patrick tries to tell me to calm down but I wish I could get all the answers right now! I just wish I could shut my brain off at night and be able to sleep while I can! :)

Snow Day

Last night when I found out the we weren't going to have school I have to admit I was alittle upset! I didn't really think it would do much down here, but I guess I was wrong! :)

This morning around 6:30 we woke up to snow on the ground and it was still snowing outside. We both hopped back in the bed and went back to sleep! When I woke up the snow was gone off the ground but it is still snowing pretty heavily, it is just not sticking. It is such a pretty site though to look out the window and see the snow.
There is even enough on our cars for Patrick and I to maybe have a snowball fight. :)

So what do we do on this wonderful day off.... Watch movies and do nothing!!!

This is what I want to say to my sister....

She did an OUTSTANDING job on our house! When we came home it smelled so clean as well as looked so clean! :)

She cleaned all of our baseboards, cabinets, tub, and floors! Our house looks spotless! :) If anyone in the Upstate is looking for a good maid you need to call her. Her price is also very reasonable! If we lived closer she would clean our house every week! She is AMAZING! :)

While she was cleaning Patrick and I took Caroline and Eli out and about our town! We went to Toys R Us, Target, and Chick fil a! We had a great time! Never once did they pitch a fit or get upset about anything! They are really the best behaved kids I have ever kept! :)

Patrick and I had a great time with them! Now it is NAP TIME! :)

What a Great Feeling!!!

Today was the last day of the semester for my students! I think I was just as happy as they were! This has been a very challenging semester for me and I look forward to another set of great students.

Tomorrow I have to work until 6:30, but I don't have to work on Friday!! WHOO HOO!!! I was looking forward to finally sleeping late, but Patrick and I are taking advantage of our day off and going to visit a pediatrician and childcare centers.

Then on Sat. an answer to our prayer is coming to our house! MY SISTER IS COMING TO CLEAN OUR HOUSE!:) I don't think she knows how much this means to us because I really don't know how we were going to get everything done. It is so hard for me to do anything these days! While she is cleaning we get to take care of the two cutest kids in the world! :)

So needless to say I have been feeling great lately! :)

My sister sent me this song and told me she really liked when she was pregnant with Caroline. After listening to the words I can agree! It pretty much sums up what I am feeling these last weeks. I don't think March could get here any sooner!

Cleaning advice!

This week at work is exam week and the last week of the semester so I only have students 3 days and then Friday I have a half day, and then have Monday off!!

Since I have a long break, Patrick and I have decided to deep clean our house on Sat. This is where we need some advice!

We are going to clean all the baseboards, windows, walls, floors, etc! Does anyone have any tips that make this easier or wonderful cleaning supplies that they use that we should try? We are up for any ideas! :)

*Please don't think our house is nasty, but I want it to be extra clean for Mary Alice and this is one of the last weekends we have to do this!*

Look Who We Got To Keep....

Our friends Adam and Heather had a cute little girl in August and we offered to keep her last night so her parents could go on a date night!

She was so cute! We played at first and then it was time to eat and that is when the screaming started. Her little tummy was so tight that she was not happy. She was also very sleepy and was fighting sleep.

Eventually Patrick was holding her and rocking her back and forth. He put his IPOD in and started singing songs. She then fell asleep and stayed asleep for a good 30 minutes in his arms. Unfortunately we called her parents before that and they were on their way back. It ended up being a good night though because they stayed for awhile and we had a chance to catch up!

I will say that I am now more than ready to have Mary Alice. I have never really seen Patrick with a little baby and he was WONDERFUL! I know that we are going to have ups and downs but I can't wait to see him and Mary Alice together!

For those of you that don't me, I LOVE COLLEGE BASKETBALL!! Patrick and I try to watch as many games as we can! We even have the Duke schedule on our calender on the refrigerator.

Well tonight there were two great games on.. UNC vs. Boston College and Duke vs. Virginia Tech. Now usually you would think UNC and Duke would win with no problem but not tonight!

It was a great end to a great break!!

UNC LOST AND DUKE WON! :) Yes that is right.. The number one team in the nation lost! :)

A Weekend of Great Friends

This weekend has been a great way to end a great break!

Friday Patrick and I finally went to register at Target. We didn't really find much there so our primary registry is at Babies R Us, but there are some things at Target. It is hard to believe that it is almost time for showers and then our little one will be here!
That night we went out to eat with our friends, Casey and David. Casey and I met in grad school and we have become really good friends. We enjoyed a great dinner at Macaroni Grill and then some ice cream at Coldstone Creamery.
After dinner they came back over and we played Rock Band. Mary Alice does not really like loud music so she was going CRAZY during the game!

Saturday my parents were coming through town from their time at the beach so they stopped by and took us to lunch! Thanks mom and dad!

Saturday night we had our Sunday School Christmas party, yes I know Christmas is over, but it is hard to get together before Christmas! It was so nice to be able to spend the evening with our church friends. Of course I forgot my camera, but we had a great time! We are really blessed with great friends down here!

Today we have enjoyed a great service at church, a great lunch with friends from church, and doing NOTHING! We hope to watch Duke beat Virginia Tech tonight and then get a good nights sleep!

It is hard to believe that the break is over, but I only have 11 more weeks and then I will be able to be home with my little girl hopefully until August! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

New Year Events

Patrick and I had a very low key New Year's but it was a lot of fun!!

Last night we went over to our cousin's house, The Elliott's. We went out to dinner, watched Emma play, and then watched Eagle Eye. We had to stop the movie to watch the ball drop and then started it back! We had a great time! Here are some pictures from the night.

Today The Elliott's came over to our house to watch the Carolina game, which by the way did not turn out to well! During the game the girls were not that interested. Emma took a nap in Mary Alice's crib and Crystal and I went to Target! They had great deals on some baby clothes! :) After they left Patrick and I just laid around the house and didn't do much! I love days like this were you can be lazy!

I hope everyone had a great New Year's! Patrick and I have a lot to be blessed about and we can't wait for this year! We believe this is going to be a good YEAR, especially in March! :)
